SixZers Fixture and Results
Round-Up of 1st Tournament of the Pengelly Autos SixZers.
The first tournament of the Pengelly Autos SixZers has come and gone, but don't worry, as the second tournament is around the corner on 15 March 2015. In the opening tournament of the series, 5 teams took part in an eventful day that ran from 10:00 to 16:00. The teams were: Cricket Warriors, Lumo Lions, Rugga Warriors, The Falcons and Southern Strikers.
After 6 Matches, we headed into the Final 2 matches of the day with 3 Teams in contention of winning the first tournament of the Pengelly Autos SixZers. The 3 teams were: Rugga Warriors, Cricket Warriors and Lumo Lions.
Rugga Warriors, who had 2 wins, took on Team Falcon, hoping to claim the place as the winners of the Tournament, but were unfortunate to lose. This meant that the final match of the day between the Cricket Warriors and Lumo Lions (who both also had 2 wins) would compete to see who would be the winner the tournament.
The winner of the tournament would be the Cricket Warriors. This made Cricket Warriors' Ace Coach and Founder, Andrew Howitt particularly happy.
The performance of the day had to be by Ben Jackson, who scored an unbeaten 53 runs not-out in under 4 overs. The winner of the lucky draw, and receiving a Brand New Kookaburra Pro 300 Kahuna bat was Clyde Theunessin from the Rugga Warriors.
We, DS Events, enjoyed hosting the event Bergvliet Primary School, and we were extremely happy to see that the kids enjoyed themselves. We would like to thank all the kids who took part and their families and friends for coming down and providing the spirit and atmosphere to make the day a special. We encourage more kids to take part so that we can grow the Pengelly Autos SixZers Series and run it over two venues on one day.
We also encourage schools to sign-up some kids from their Cricket teams to participate in the SixZers to both represent their school and gain experience to further improve their development for the future. We feel this is a great idea as some schools have an excess of kids who want to play Cricket and cannot offer them the game time, and some schools participate in leagues that are not suited for them.
Spread the word and lets grow this tournament so that we can offer the kids more!
Once again, thank you to everybody who participated and thank you to our Sponsors: Pengelly Autos, ADS Vehicle Finance, Franky's Diner & Highbury Safika Media.
Kind Regards
DS Events
